"Laurie and I did a lot of preparation and exploration of jobs for me, we spent quality time discussing accommodations , schedule and growth opportunities that were important to me.
My start time was critical so I could be there for my children after school and then I was available weekends, the store provided this for me as well as keeping my shift lengths to a certain number of hours that worked for my mobility.
I was hired at Home Depot when Covid protocols were in place and I was a Greeter/Health and Safety Ambassador but they saw something in me and I was offered opportunities for other roles. I continue to enjoy my role and appreciate the chance for growth as this remains a very important factor to me.
It took approximately 9 months of time from registration with Laurie until I started working but I can honestly say I have a found a Good Fit, my hours allow me to be there for my family and I feel like a valued member of the team and look forward to what happens next!"
We're happy to hear about Justin's positive experiences at The Home Depot Canada, and believe his story highlights the importance of a Good Fit!
